The missing ingredient that is screaming under cover in Neville’s work.
Many have read, listened to or watched videos of Neville Goddard’s vast array of books, lectures and audio files, all in the hopes of finding the golden key that will unlock the door to the abundance that is that unified field of potential.
People have jumped from coach to coach in search of the hidden gems that made it so easy for Neville to master conscious manifesting.
People have scoured the internet in hopes of finding the holy grail of information that has alluded so many of us.
Well, I’m here to share that with you today.
I’m going to give it to you right here on what made Neville and his contemporaries, masters at conscious manifesting.
Now when I reveal this a lot of you are going to be disappointed because you’ve fallen into the trap of the “genie script” nonsense of thinking that there are special words placed in special order that will grant you your heart’s desires.
Sorry, not gonna happen.
Some of you are going to say “I can’t do that “ even before you get started and then you’ll go right back to surfing the internet and book stores for that magic elixir.
You’re gonna be searching your entire life I’m afraid.
Then some of you will try it for a couple of days while “looking” for evidence of it working.
“Signs follow, they do not precede “ as Neville has said.
But then there are always those few, that five percent who say I’m going to do this and persist until my desire hardens into fact and you know what, those are the ones who live in the end and succeed.
The ones that stick with it and stop chasing those “you’ll get your SP back in 24 hours “ posts that are out there.
The ones that have realized that it’s not just your “dominate thoughts” that are holding you back.
These are the people who realized that to persist and stay the course of attaining their desire is always the best direction.
So what was it that Neville had or did that made it seem so easy for him?
Let’s first take a look at who he was in his early life.
When Neville came to the United States he became a dancer and even had a few stints in Vaudeville. Most of the people he knew were dancers and actors as well.
As a dancer or actor there are times, quite often, that they would need to “play a character” for the scene they are performing.
Many actors spend loads of time “getting into character “ just to play the part more realistically.
Some of the great actors go so far into the character they are playing that at times they have said it was difficult to know when they weren’t in character. Some have even said that playing a certain character changed who they were for the rest of their lives. They became the person they were playing to some extent.
It’s amazing to watch an exceptional actor become someone so different from rolls they had played previously. Sometimes, even with very little makeup it’s hard to imagine them any other way than what you’re witnessing before you.
I remember the shock I received when I found out that Hugh Laurie wasn’t American. When I heard him on an interview my eyes were not seeing what my ears were hearing.
Even his mannerisms were so vastly different from the character he played. It was mind boggling for me.
So that brings us to the secret that is hidden in plain sight in so many of Neville’s works that is the absolute key to making this all work for you.
You see, your entire life you have been “playing a roll” a “character” that has made up the entirety of your life to date.
This “character” that you have been playing is made up of the assumptions and beliefs you have of yourself, those around you and the world in which you live.
Those beliefs and assumptions have formed a perceived conception of who you “imagine” yourself to be.
Just like an actor who is playing a part in a movie or play. They have a perceived conception of who that character is and how they will respond to certain people and events in their script. You too have been playing a character made up of assumptions and perceived conceptions. Neville calls this acting “states” while others have labeled it frequency’s or vibrations and even parallel realities. We’ll stick with states.
You see, the character you’re playing right now is a state that you have moved into at one point or another in your life and it encompasses the assumptions and perceptions that you have of yourself and the people, places and circumstances around you.
As Neville Goddard used to say, “Everyone and Everything is yourself pushed out”
The conception that you have of yourself and your world around you is reflected back to you in the mirror of your reality. The assumptions and perceptions that you have within you about yourself and everything else is pushed out and then is reflected back to you in the people, places, things and circumstances of your life.
Neville knew this. He knew that the concept you hold of yourself is why your life is the way it is. Good, bad or indifferent.
But he also knew that you could “shift” these states, these conceptions and perceptions with practice, very much like an actor changes characters.
Neville knew that if you were living a life of lack and you wanted to be abundant you simply needed to shift into that state of abundance. You needed to “perceive” yourself as being abundant. You needed to “take on all the tones of reality “ of an abundant person.
Now for Neville and some of his contemporaries, this was a fairly familiar practice for they have been doing it for most of their acting and dancing careers.
They knew how to “shift” into the character they were asked to play.
All they needed to do is research the character and then “take on the tones or attributes” of that character.
They needed to ask themselves, “how would this character given these certain circumstances react?” They would do the research, find out the answer to their question and then “move into the state” of that character. Some actors are so good at it that they will often not only take on the mannerisms and speech of the person they are portraying, they will even morph their bodies to take on some of the physical attributes of the person they are playing.
Take for instance Jamie Fox when he played the roll of Ray Charles in the movie Ray. Foxx won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in that movie. Jamie Foxx took on “all the tones of reality” of Ray Charles and became Ray Charles in that movie. He was exceptional in that movie.
When Neville admonishes us to “take on all the tones of reality” of our wish desires he is telling us to do the very thing that Jamie Foxx did in that roll.
We are to move into the state of abundance and live from that state in our imaginations. We says to “go to sleep in the bed you would be in if your wish were fulfilled”. Become the person that would be abundant. Become the person who is in that loving relationship. Move into those states and “feel” (experience) that relationship “from” the person who is in that relationship. How would it feel? What you you think? What would you do in any given situation if that wish were fulfilled?
It’s not enough to simply watch your dominant thoughts. That won’t do anything for you. You must attach an elevated emotion to that thought by becoming the thought.
Emotion is energy in motion. The thought is the energy and the feeling is what you emote from that thought. Those two together equals the elevated emotions you need to have.
If you were abundant would you wake up in the morning wondering how you were going to pay your rent? No. You would “know” that it would be taken care of without worry. You would walk along the street knowing that you could afford that dress in the window. You would walk with the confidence that your car payment is already taken care of.
That’s what it means to “play the part”. Move into the character that is abundant. To live “from” the attributes of an abundant person.
That’s what it means to shift into the state of the wish fulfilled.
Neville knew that we are never given what we want. We “experience” who we are.
To change the reflection in your mirror you need to change the conception of who you “feel” and “think” you are.
You need both the emotion and the thought to make it happen.
You can be an excited and happy person your entire life. That won’t make you wealthy.
You can think of wealthy every minute of the day but that won’t bring you money.
But if you put an elevated emotion of being wealthy with the thought of already being wealthy and you live from that state in your imagination and persist in that state, it will harden into fact in your reality.
There has been too many researches done scientifically to prove it otherwise.
It must and will happen if persisted in.
So what are the steps?
1. You need to know what you want in detail. Write it out. Don’t leave anything to chance. What is your desire? Spell it out in exact detail.
2. Once you have your desire written out figure out how you would feel if you had that desire. Who would you be? How would you act? What would your morning be like? What type of emotions would you have? Let me give you a clue on that last one. Most people would put “over joyed” or “extremely happy”. Those are short term emotions. Those won’t last. However, being relieved, feeling secure, relaxed, grounded, loved and confident would be more along the lines of natural elevated long term emotions.
3. Once you have those it’s time now to create a small five to ten second scene based from what you wrote down of your desire. You would make that scene a portrayal of what your life would be were you living from your wish fulfilled. What short scene would imply that your wish is already yours? What would imply that you are living from your wish fulfilled?
4. Then take that scene, close your eyes and play that scene over and over again in your imagination. Live in your imagination as if you were experiencing that very scene over and over again. Add in all the elevated emotions that you can or would experience in that scene. Add in all the senses you would experience. How would it smell, how would it feel if you touched it? Would there be taste? What would you hear? What would you see?
5. Then, last but in no way least is to persist in living in the end, living in the wish fulfilled until it hardens into fact. Live your life through your imagination as if your desire is playing out right here, right now. Turn away from the senses and live in your imagination until your desire hardens into fact. This last step is one of the keys that som many people miss. You have to persist in the wish fulfilled for the change to occur in you.
So what have we learned? We’ve learned that we must have a detailed desire. Then we must create a scene in which we are the star actor in it. This scene is played out in our imagination using all of the senses that we can.
We must do research into finding out how we would feel were we to have or be our desire right now. Do this research so that you can move into that state at will.
Neville was an actor and dancer so therefore it was easy for him to move into the state of his wish fulfilled. You to must do the same. You must become that person who has your desire first internally before it will be reflected back to you in your 3-d screen of space. (Your reality).
That’s the secret that was in so many of Neville’s writings that very few people saw. In many of his books and lectures Neville talks about being the actor, director, writer, and producer of your imaginal scene. He was so immersed in the arts that it spilled out in all areas of his life including his teachings.
Embrace that actor inside of you and let it lead you to your life of fulfillment. Search for that inner child and use his or hers vivid imagination to help build the life you deserve.
You’ve got this. Anthony.
